2021-09-18
On September 7, 2021, ISO issued the international standard ISO 23781:2021 "Operating procedures of pig slaughtering". This is the first international standard for livestock and poultry slaughter formulated by our country, and it was drafted by the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center (the Slaughtering Technology Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs).
This standard was developed on the basis of our country's national standard "Operational Procedures for Livestock and Poultry Slaughtering Pigs" (GB/T 17236-2019), which stipulates the slaughter operation procedures and meat storage requirements for pig slaughter. In order to implement the requirements of the Standardization Law revised and implemented in 2018 for active participation in international standardization activities, and to promote Chinese standards to "go out", the Slaughter Technology Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is organizing the revision of the national standard "Pig Slaughter Operation Regulations" (GB/T 17236). -2008) At the same time, the international standard project of the same name was declared to ISO in 2018, and the project was approved in 2019. After that, in accordance with the requirements of ISO standard formulation, organize domestic and foreign experts to complete the procedures of standard drafting, discussion, soliciting opinions, and reviewing. In the review and voting of this standard, all ISO members participating in the voting voted in favor. The transformation from my country's slaughtering standards to the internationally accepted ISO standards will drive my country's live pig products to "go global" and improve the international competitiveness of my country's pig slaughtering industry.
